Assistant Professor/LMFT, Auburn University & Director, RESTORE Research Program
Prior to joining Auburn, Dr. Ruhlmann spent three years as the Director of Trauma Services at a residential recovery program for survivors of sex trafficking in Kansas. In this role, Dr. Ruhlmann provided trauma-focused therapy to survivors of sex trafficking and their families, facilitated training for staff and community-partners, and was a leading member of the organization’s survivor screening and intake team. In 2017, Dr. Ruhlmann established a community-based participatory research program called RESTORE. This transdisciplinary team conducts research with sex trafficking survivors across the United States for the purpose of improving the quality of person-centered care offered to this uniquely underserved population.
