Co-Founder & Programs Manager, REST
Trafficking survivors have often engaged in systems that require compliance: probation, child custody, social systems, even the culture of the sex trade. When survivors choose to engage in anti-trafficking services designed for safety, recovery, and empowerment, we should model another mentality: collaboration over compliance. Compliance removes choice and motivation. Collaboration invites self-awareness, inspiration, and adaption. It can be used to invite participation in program activities, expectations, and behavior change.
