Harmony Grillo

Founder & Executive Director, Treasures

In 2003, while completing a Master's degree in Social Welfare from UCLA, Harmony began the work of Treasures, a faith-based, survivor-led outreach and support group to women in the sex industry and victims of sex trafficking, as a dream born out of her own broken past.

As a sex-industry overcomer, Harmony is passionate about assisting women on their journey of healing and transformation. Using a combination of personal story, biblical insights and evidence-based theories, she sheds light on the impact a “pornified” culture has on the people who live in it.

Her memoir, Scars and Stilettos, gives an account of her story of going from working in strip clubs under the control of a pimp, to leading an organization that reaches women in the sex industry on a global scale.

Through Treasures’ Outreach and Care Trainings, Harmony has helped train and launch outreaches in over 100 cities on six continents.  She has also provided training for the LAPD, LVPD, Department of Justice, and the FBI in best practices for working with victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking.  She has been featured in various media sources, including Glamour, Elle, The Dr. Drew Show, and The Tyra Banks Show.

In addition to the work of Treasures, Harmony’s heart is fueled by her love for her incredible husband and beautiful daughter, amazing friends, salsa dancing and hammocks.
