JOB SUMMARY      Mirror Ministries’ mission is to respond to domestic minor sex trafficking with the love of Christ through local education, intervention, restoration, and aftercare. The Mirror Ministries’ Human Trafficking Advocate works throughout the Tri-Cities and Benton and Franklin counties. The Advocate brings training, education and awareness to local schools, agencies and businesses. The advocate does purposeful outreach to identify victims of trafficking hidden in our community, including a 24/7 sex-trafficking hotline.  The Advocate walks hand-in-hand with victims/survivors of human trafficking showing them that there is hope and help, connecting them to needed services and walking alongside them on their journey of healing. Mirror Ministries is a Christian organization, dedicated to serving people of all faiths and backgrounds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide consistent advocacy for victims of Human Trafficking in Benton/Franklin counties from pre-disclosure through restoration by building trust and rapport
  • Embrace and promote Mirror Ministries’ vision and mission in the community
  • Provide innovative, trauma-informed, wrap-around-based, Case Management for victims identified through local agencies, outreach, referral, or the hotline
  • Manage intake, create individualized goal plans, and maintain progress notes for each client; Including follow up interviews every 6 months
  • Proactively pursue client’s care
  • Maintain case notes and files in an orderly, up-to-date manner, and assist in improving efficiency of reporting, maintaining clear confidentiality policies
  • Assist clients in accessing resources to help meet their individualized goals. Advocate on their behalf with government organizations and community services to increase their opportunity for success
  • Develop creative means of outreach and engagement for victims of CSEC
  • Manage and respond to Mirror Ministries Hotline in rotation with other staff and volunteers
  • Work as a partner with other agencies in town accessing a network of services for victims and bringing training where needed
  • Attend applicable trainings (local, travel, & on-line)
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings, quarterly Board meetings and MM training days

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professional, teachable and humble, servant leader
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human/Social Services or related field, Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Social Services in the role of Advocate, Counselor, or Mediator in the area of Human Trafficking or CSEC
  • Knowledgeable on the issues surrounding Commercial Sexual Exploitation
  • Knowledgeable on complex trauma and the impact of complex trauma on the brain
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and implementation of trauma-informed care
  • Ability to seek, and reach out, in creative ways to find victims of trafficking to offer them hope
  • Experience and willingness to conduct presentations and trainings to large groups
  • Ability to respond to crisis and/or escalated behavior with calm and confidence
  • Detail oriented, able to build forms, processes and systems
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to organize, discern, and problem-solve creatively and under pressure
  • Demonstrate initiative with researching and accessing relevant resources in the community
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and able to respond to leadership directives in a timely manner
  • Must have reliable transportation, current auto insurance, and clean driving record
  • Active and vital relationship with Jesus and part of a supportive community outside of MM
  • Faithful and committed to the role in a consistent manner, open to periods of “long-suffering”
  • All employees of Mirror Ministries must agree with the attached statement of faith
  • Bi-Lingual preferred
  • Familiarity with Tri-Cities agencies, law enforcement, and service providers preferred
  • Must pass background check

Schedule: Varies, dependent on client needs, some evenings and weekends are expected in addition to typical 9am-4pm weekdays

Location: Based out of Mirror Ministries Outreach Center in Kennewick, Washington, but many clients will be met in the community at various locations and education and outreach are done in the community

Position: Full-time, Salaried Exempt Employee

Hourly Rate: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour dependent upon qualifications

Additional Benefits: 8-paid holidays, 100-hours of paid time off per year, company-supplied computer and phone, and medical stipend
