Mirror Ministries’ Development Director                                                                  

Mirror Ministries’ mission is to respond to domestic minor sex trafficking with the love of Christ through local education, intervention, restoration, and aftercare. Mirror Ministries works throughout the Tri-Cities and Benton and Franklin counties. We bring training, education and awareness to local schools, agencies and businesses. Mirror advocates do purposeful outreach to identify victims of trafficking hidden in our community, including a 24/7 sex-trafficking hotline.  Mirror walks hand-in-hand with victims/survivors of sex trafficking showing them that there is hope and help, connecting them to needed services and walking alongside them on their journey of healing. Mirror Ministries is a Christian organization, dedicated to serving people of all faiths and backgrounds.

Development Director- Job Description

The Development Director leads the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of fundraising for Mirror Ministries to help fund the organization’s identified priorities. The Development Director’s first, and foremost, assignment is to focus on the current Capital Campaign for a restoration home for minor girls. They will manage the details of the capital campaign, track donor engagement data and guide the development of engagement strategies for individual donors. They support the CEO, Board, and other solicitors as they prepare for and engage with donors.


  • This position currently serves as staff to the Campaign Steering Committee and will be responsible for the month-to-month planning, data management and support of other committees and leaders of the current capital campaign
  • Help assure that the board, the CEO and volunteer leaders know the “game plan” for each phase of the capital campaign plan
  • Must be able to embrace and promote Mirror Ministries mission and vision in the community.
  • Oversees events and recognition opportunities
  • Develop and implement a multi-year strategic fundraising plan to identify and cultivate donors from internal and external constituencies, building upon current donor base to create new giving opportunities for volunteers, congregations, agencies, businesses, individuals and other ministry supporters
  • Provide leadership to establish and build relationships to work effectively with top donors and volunteers and develop fund raising programs utilizing Board members, staff and volunteers in key roles
  • Build, train and lead board members, staff and other volunteers to be an effective Financial Development Team who are strong advocates for giving
  • Establish development goals, objectives, and standards in line with the organization's Strategic Plan; lead Financial Development Team to meet and exceed these goals and objectives
  • Develop and manage the financial development budget
  • Develop and execute the fundraising strategy to significantly grow the annual fund in the short term while diversifying the donor base toward long-term funding of the organization’s identified priorities through major gifts, capital campaigns and planned giving
  • Monitor trends in development and the giving community
  • Ability to deliver a significant yearly increase in annual giving
  • Ability to run a successful $3.9 million Capital Campaign as first assignment


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Professional, teachable, and humble, servant leader
  • Believes deeply in what Mirror Ministries is doing
  • All employees of Mirror Ministries must agree with the attached Statement of Faith
  • 2 years’ experience in campaign or donor development preferred
  • Knowledgeable on campaign management & donor development
  • Direct experience in professional fundraising not a must but a plus, including annual funding, major gifts, and capital campaigns; planned giving knowledge and experience an added value
  • Flexible and able to respond to leadership directives in a timely manner
  • Active and vital relationship with Jesus Christ and part of a supportive church community outside of Mirror Ministries
  • Must pass background check
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to tell our story genuinely and positively, in person, by phone, and in writings 
  • Collaborator who can seamlessly create and unify existing and new networks of people and programs
  • Incredibly organized, self‐motivated jump starter, able to pull their own weight
  • Ability to understand and carry out the business and art of raising money, including:
    • Articulating the vision, values, and mission of Mirror Ministries through an effective Case
    • Researching potential donors’ capacity, interests, and giving history
    • Producing direct mail and social media campaigns from concept to design to closed gift to thank you
    • Asking for money and following up on the ask
    • Discovering grant opportunities and Request For Proposals
    • Writing grant requests and post‐award reports with all required documentation
    • Using & maintaining donor database including tracking donor activity to notice opportunities
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to include frequent evening hours and travel as needed
  • Be a fun co‐worker with staff and volunteers
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) obtainable

Schedule: Typically, 9am-5pm weekdays- flexible for weekend and evening events

Location: Based out of Mirror Ministries Outreach Center in Kennewick, Washington

Position: Full-time, Salaried Exempt Employee. 

Compensation: $50,000.00- $52,000.00 depending on experience

Additional Benefits: 9-paid holidays, 80-hours of paid time off per year, company-supplied computer and phone, and medical stipend
